THE FUTURE OF LOW-CARBON DIGITAL DESIGN

THE FUTURE OF LOW-CARBON DIGITAL DESIGN

The internet is one of the largest sources of carbon emissions on Earth, and most of that impact is invisible. A high-carbon website is a credibility gap for any founder or company with an environmental mission. This paper explores where a carbon footprint comes from, the exact metrics to measure it, and an open-source, replicable model for fixing it including a documented 67% emissions reduction of our own website.

We live on the unceded stolen lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin nation. We recognise their continuing connection to culture, land, waters and community, and pay respects to Elders past and present. There cannot be climate justice without Indigenous justice. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
